Build a Winter Shelter

A Permanent Stable for Donkeys & Goats

This winter, we’re building something that will last.

At Old Soul Sanctuary, our donkeys and goats live outdoors year-round, as they should—but when winter winds cut through the pasture and cold rains settle in, they need more than open land. They need solid shelter. A place to rest, stay dry, and gather together.

With volunteer labor already committed, we’re raising $5,000 to build a permanent, weather-safe stable that will serve our donkeys and goats for many winters to come.

This structure will provide:

  • Protection from wind, rain, and cold

  • Dry footing and covered resting space

  • A shared shelter that supports herd comfort and health

  • Long-term infrastructure that reduces emergency costs and stress

It’s not temporary.

It’s not a patch.

It’s a promise.

A promise that the animals who call Old Soul home will always have a place to belong—especially when the season turns hard.

Why It Matters Now

Winter doesn’t wait.

Cold weather increases stress, illness, and injury risk for hooved animals—especially older residents and those with prior neglect or health challenges. A permanent shelter allows us to care proactively, rather than reactively.

By building this stable now, we’re creating:

  • Safer winters

  • Healthier animals

  • A sanctuary better equipped to serve for years to come

How Your Gift Helps

Every contribution brings this shelter closer to completion.

  • $25 helps cover fasteners, hardware, and finishing materials

  • $50 supports lumber and weatherproofing

  • $100 funds roofing materials that keep animals dry

  • $250+ moves the entire build forward in a meaningful way

Together, we can raise the walls, set the roof, and open the doors before winter settles in.
